Change Is Good

There’s a lot of truth to that list. Let me know if MN isn’t the only state with their unique farewells. Well, as promised, with #300 on the horizon, there’s some news I wanted to share about the newsletter. No, I’m not ceasing operations but I am changing the way it’s distributed. No more PDFs, no more emails. I don’t know how often you guys click on the website link in the emails, but for the past month or so I’ve completely revamped it to what most of you would probably describe as a typical blog. I give myself a bit of credit for making it more visually appealing than what most blogs I’ve followed in the past look like. It functions seamlessly and is clean around the edges. I welcome you to check it out as soon as you can to see for yourself what I mean. I personally think it looks better on a computer than on a phone. Food for thought for the majority of you who probably read these on your phone while you’re on the go.

So here’s what’s changing and what you can expect moving forward:

• Starting with our Aug 16 issue, the only way to read TDF will be on the website

• You can “subscribe” to the site via the simple input form found at the bottom of the homepage. Doing so will inform you via email when a post has been added to the site. That email will look like this:

• Clicking the “Read Full Post” button will bring you straight to the post for you to read as if it was delivered in PDF form

• The beauty of this is if you run into any issues or have questions, you know where to find me — my email remains active

• This also means that TDF will now exclusively be a free publication for all. Some of you may have noticed that you haven’t received an invoice from me in awhile. This was intentional

• As of the beginning of August, I’ve cancelled recurring payment for all existing subscribers, meaning you should no longer be charged. If you experience something different, please let me know so I can take care of and make you whole

• I will no longer be posting twice per week. Instead I will be posting once, every Sunday. This still means year-round content, but less fluff issues and more value-added

• I’ve ultimately determined that I need more time to dedicate to the TDF’s next phase. What does that include? For starters, a book. I also have this idea for a “yearbook” that recaps the NFL season. I think there would be significant value in having a website dedicated to attempts and targets and giving fantasy advice based solely on trends seen amongst those two statistics. As you can see, my mind is still very much focused on evolving my fantasy takes/exposure. It’s time that I don’t have enough of — the case for us all

• One of the beauties about going this route is that you now have archive access to a good chunk of previous posts. 100 of them to be exact! I still have 200 or so issues to upload that I will tackle in drips and drabs. See “Posts” section of the site’s ribbon:

• Because I’ll occasionally be uploading historical issues, a warning to you is to be conscious of the “Published on” date of the email you receive when a post is published to the site. The “Published on” date will be when I originally wrote the post, not the day when it was uploaded

• Which brings me to my final point, TDF is no longer exclusive to paid subscribers. Share, share, share the site with your friends and family — let’s blow up the fantasy industry together!
