Founder & Editor

Hey there, I'm Derrick.

I've been playing fantasy football for nearly two decades — long enough to have made every mistake in the book, and long enough to know that the biggest ones rarely have anything to do with which RB you started.

That's the idea behind The Daily Footnote.

After years of obsessing over the game, I became convinced that fantasy football is less about knowing the right players and more about making better decisions — managing uncertainty, resisting the urge to overreact, and understanding why we so often get in our own way. The Daily Footnote is where I write about all of it.

I've spent the last several years putting these ideas into newsletter form, publishing hundreds of issues that dig into the psychology, strategy, and culture of fantasy football. This site is the full archive of that work — free to read.

New issues are posted every Sunday. Become a subscriber and never miss a post.
